Whether you have acne-prone skin or not, when buying a moisturizer, make sure it is non-comedogenic, meaning that it won’t clog your pores. Clogged pores are the first step to breakouts, rough texture, uneven skin tone, and a host of other skin issues. So, we certainly do not want this problem from our skincare or makeup products.
If you checked your current moisturizer and found out that it is not listed as noncomedogenic, we can help you pick one that is. Below, we have reviewed the 15 best noncomedogenic moisturizers and gave our honest reviews. You will want to add some to your cart ASAP, especially if your skin is prone to oil or acne. Best Noncomedogenic Moisturizers
Hydrating Face Cream IMIM Face Moisturizer for Women & Men
The hydrating face cream by IMIM is a high-intensity hyaluronic acid-rich moisturizer that contains ceramide 3, Allantoin, and other organic ingredients. This moisturizer works quickly and helps to restore and fortify the skin’s moisture barrier.
This cream is like a tiny miracle. While using this cream for one month, I noticed that my skin became smoother and plumper. It helped me to relieve dryness and all the irritation caused by dry skin in general.
I also noticed my skin texture improved, and dark spots caused by sun damage, dark circles, and acne were less visible. Overall, I felt like my acne prone skin was significantly rejuvenated.
The best part is that this cream can be used both for men and women, so I had to try it on my hubby too! As every man, he doesn’t like fancy creams like us girls do, but he didn’t complain whenever I gave him a mini facial!
Lastly, a big plus is IMIM’s 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. I don’t come across a lot of products that have a no-questions-asked full refund.

- High-intensity hyaluronic acid-rich moisturizer
- Contains organic ingredients
- Helps with acne prone skin and oily skin
- Relieves skin dryness
- Useful to prevent early signs of aging

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum is an excellent choice if your skin is normal to dry, and requires high hydration levels, without making it feel oily. Since this serum contains hyaluronic acid, it attracts moisture and locks it in the skin, stimulating your skin and giving it a healthy glow. The moisturizer is oil free.
While using this product by Neutrogena, over time, I noticed my complexion improved. My acne prone skin looked healthier, shinier, and it was smoother. I also liked that the serum absorbs quickly and feels very light on the skin. It helped with my dark circles and deep pores too.
Pros:
- 1-fluid ounce non comedogenic moisturizer
- Recommended for normal to dry skin types
- Hyaluronic acid moisturizer
- Formula helps improve complexion
- Good moisturizer for oily skin
- Helps with acne prone skin
- Affordable price
- Oil free product
Cons:
- You will get better results when used as a set (Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel or Gel-Cream)
Bio-Oil Skincare Oil for Scars and Stretchmarks
Bio-Oil is really a remarkable product for scars and stretch marks, even if your scars are very old. A dog bit me on the leg when I was very young, and it left me with a nasty scar. I never treated it, and one day just decided to try out Bio-Oil after seeing the commercial on the TV and checking out the price.
My scar didn’t disappear, but it’s look was really improved. It seemed like it faded. After that, I decided to try it on my stretch marks and acne scars. It worked wonders! Again, the scars didn’t disappear completely, but I definitely noticed an improvement.
Also, it will make your face very soft and smooth. Although it’s an oil, it doesn’t feel greasy, it absorbs fast, and it won’t cause your skin to break out. On the contrary, since it has vitamin E and natural ingredients such as chamomile and lavender, it will have an anti-inflammatory effect on your skin.
This is definitely among my top 5 skincare products for acne-prone skin!
Pros:
- 6.7-ounce non-comedogenic moisturizer
- Can be used for face and body
- Helps to treat scars from injury, surgery, and acne
- Helps to reduce stretch marks
- Helps with acne-prone skin and oily skin
- A good option for anti-aging treatment
- Helps to treat uneven skin tones
- The formula contains vitamin E and A
- The formula contains natural chamomile, rosemary, calendula, purcelin, and lavender oil
- Anti-inflammatory properties
- Fast absorption
- Formulated for all skin types
- Affordable price
Cons:
- Not suitable for very sensitive skin
- Some people may find the smell of the moisturizer too strong
Neutrogena Oil-Free Daily Long-Lasting Facial Moisturizer & Neck Cream
The Facial Moisturizer & Neck Cream by Neutrogena is another oil free product intended to moisturize dry skin. Unlike the first product we reviewed, this one doesn’t have hyaluronic acid, but glycerin to help soften and smooth the skin. It also provides sun protection with broad-spectrum SPF 35.
The manufacturer claims this moisturizer could be used on all skin types, but since it contains glycerin, which can be very greasy, I would use it only if you have dry skin. If you have sensitive skin, also avoid this product. Some of the ingredients may irritate your skin and cause an unpleasant burning sensation.
Personally, I didn’t have this problem, but I am warning you either way. The moisturizer is advertised as hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, dye-free, alcohol-free, and oil free, so it may seem suitable for sensitive skin. Still, due to a lot of negative reviews, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Overall, I would say this facial moisturizer is nothing special and doesn’t stand out from the crowd.
Pros:
- 2.5 fluid ounce non comedogenic moisturizer
- SPF 35
- The formula contains glycerin
- Recommended for dry skin types
- Helps with acne-prone skin and oily skin
- Hypoallergenic moisturizer
- Fragrance-free
- Dye-free
- Alcohol-free
- Oil-free
Cons:
- A lot of people experienced a burning sensation on their skin almost immediately after applying the moisturizer
- Doesn’t feel lightweight as advertised, the moisturizer feels greasy on normal to combination skin
Unrefined Raw Shea Butter by Perfect Body Harmony
You can’t go wrong with shea butter, especially if it’s organic and unrefined. It’s simply great for everything. Shea butter contains essential fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E, and F, and provides your skin and hair with the nutrients and necessary antioxidants it needs.
Use it to moisturize your face and body, treat split ends, tame your curls, relieve dry or itchy skin, alleviate skin rashes, burns, and insect bites, treat acne, moisturize your lips and so much more! If you love DIY projects, you can add this butter as an ingredient in homemade soaps, lotions, and creams.
It’s good to know that shea butter by Perfect Body Harmony is 100% organic and that it’s imported from Ghana (located in West Africa). This oil is filtered multiple times and packaged in a double-walled jar with UV protection. I have to admit that not many products have such excellent packaging.
The consistency of the shea butter is perfect; it chips away from the main block easily and melts in your palms when rubbed together. It doesn’t feel too greasy on the skin. Overall, I am in love with this product!

This sunscreen is so good that the Skin Cancer Foundation recommends it. What’s even better is that it also works great for anti-aging protection.

Eau Thermale Avene Hydrance LIGHT Hydrating Emulsion
If your skin is extremely sensitive or dehydrated, Eau Thermale Avene Hydrance Emulsion will be the game changer you are looking for!
It’s very important to distinguish dry skin from dehydrated skin. Dry skin is a skin type, while dehydrated skin is a temporary skin condition and means your skin lacks water. I struggled with my dehydrated skin for years because I kept buying dry skincare products. So, don’t make the same mistake and do your research carefully!
The Eau Thermale Avene Hydrance Emulsion contains two key ingredients that will do wonders for your skin: cohederm and Avene thermal spring water.
The cohederm is a lipid trio that restores and binds moisture to the skin, improving its elasticity and preventing water loss. On the other side, Avene thermal spring water soothes discomfort and tightness from dehydrated skin. These two ingredients are the perfect combination and solution for sensitive and dehydrated skin!
The moisturizer is lightweight, provides long-lasting hydration, absorbs excess oils, doesn’t clog pores, and leaves a matte finish. The product is on the pricier side, but I think it’s worth every penny!

On the skin, it feels hydrating, lightweight, and non-greasy. It doesn’t clog pores, and won’t cause you to break out. It comes in 3 different scents (Ocean Breeze, Lavender, and Sea Mist), which are all gentle and calming. I think that over time, this moisturizer can really improve the elasticity and firmness of your skin. Aveeno is famous for its Blackberry complex, antioxidant-rich creams. This cream contains the Blackberry Complex, and it’s also infused with vitamin C and E.

I used this oil to relieve eczema symptoms, and after I noticed my body reacted well, I used it on my acne. It feels nice on the skin; it doesn’t clog pores and makes your skin smoother and softer. The product is also advertised for preventing wrinkles and stretch marks, but I didn’t use it for those purposes.
